Updated/New Policies: Code of Conduct, Disciplinary Process Policy and Registration Policy

Announcing Major Updates to the YKMHA Code of Conduct, Registration Policy and the Introduction of the Disciplinary Process Policy.

At the conclusion of the 2024/2025 playing season, the Board of Directors got right to work at policy renewal. We are happy to introduce the first of these policies, approved at our last board meeting: the Code of Conduct, Registration Policy and the Disciplinary Process Policy.

Code of Conduct 2025

The work done on the Code of Conduct was to modernize the existing policy and create a more robust document that is easier to follow and read. As part of updates, the process followed for discipline has been pulled out of the policy and moved into it own policy. Also, the Spectator Policy has been repealed and principles of it integrated into the updated Code of Conduct keeping it all in one place.

Disciplinary Process Policy

The discipline process has been pulled out of the Code of Conduct and given it's own policy, which allowed us to modernize it and create a more robust policy. The new policy cover all aspects of the discipline process from investigation to appeals, to minimum suspensions.

Registration Policy

The updated Registration Policy streamlines the process by aligning registration periods, payment plans. It also reinforces financial accountability, introduces clearer refund guidelines, and ensures fee schedules are set annually following the AGM.
